Dr. Rollon is married to Analiza P. Rollon. He finished his Bachelor of Fisheries and Master of Marine Biology at the University of the Philippines – Diliman. He also got his master degree in Environmental Science and Technology and his doctor degree of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the Wageningen Agricultural University and the International Institute for Infrastructure in the Netherlands. He has been involved in various research projects and has published several research studies in Aquatic Ecosystem, Coastal Marine Biology and Ecology, Mangrove and Seagrass Ecology, among others.

He is presently working in the University of the Philippines – Diliman, College of Science as a Professor and was a Research Assistant of the university since 1987 to 1996. He was also the member of the DENR-EMB Technical Review Committee as a Resource Person for Marine Biology and Ecology Aspects. He was also involved in consultancies since 1990 at PASAR in Leyte, PGI in Albay, NPC in Zambales and Pangasinan and GIZ Project in El Nido, Palawan, among others. He was also involved in special trainings and workshops in Advanced Ecotechnology.
