Dr. Alma Bella P. Madrazo

Dr. Alma was born in Cortes, Bohol. He is married to Jesus Desiderio Madrazo and blessed with four children. She studied at De La Paz Elementary School and finished her secondary education in Kidapawan, Cotabato. She proceeded to the University of Mindanao, Davao City, where she graduated and passed the Professional Licensure Examination. Not only was she an above-average student, she was also a well-known campus beauty. She was crowned Miss University of Mindanao. She went to UP Dilliman, where she finished a Master’s degree in Engineering Education (Chemical Engineering). She proceeded with her post-graduate studies and finished her Ph.D. in Energy Engineering in 1994.

She manages the Philippine operations of the firm, including administrative responsibilities and monitoring all aspects of existing contracts, while overseeing offices in Cebu, Palawan, Surigao, Tawi-Tawi, and Bohol. She worked at Tetra Tech (TT) which completed the USD $ 12 million Fisheries Improved for Sustainable Harvest (FISH) in four sites all over the country. A multi-awarded individual, Dr. Alma Bella Madrazo was a Post-Doctoral Fellow on Environmental Systems Management, Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom in 1992. She has attended various international conferences and trade missions in places here and abroad. She has also delivered several lectures in The Netherlands, Thailand, many cities in the USA, aside from those made in leading institutions in the Philippines. Dr. Madrazo started her professional career as a College Instructor at the University of Mindanao right after graduation. Dr. Madrazo occupied the position of Country Director of United States-Asia Environmental Partnership Program. She was based in the US Embassy, and managed the technology transfer component. Dr. Alma has shown that a Boholana can be a scientist at the vertex of the corporate world.
