He is married Dr. Marie Lorraine M. Sanchez, MD. He got his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Bohol and master degree in Management at the Philippine Christian University. To cap his military career, he assumed Command of the Naval Construction Brigade of the Philippine Navy Seabees in 2001 and promoted to Commodore in 2002. In 2006, he was designated Naval Sea Systems Commander and subsequently promoted to Rear Admiral. He represented the country in the international association of Lighthouse Authorities Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.

He was the country’s representative in the Inter-Agency Inspection Team on Maritime Safety Improvement Projects in Japan, United Kingdom, Hongkong, and France. He was sent to study tour in Indonesia and Singapore concerning navigational safety. He was responsible for the construction of lighthouse in Bohol and was instrumental in the preparation of the Philippine Navy’s 15 year bases and Support System Development Program of the PN Modernization Plan. After retirement for 35 years of service, he founded the Seabees and Engineers Retirees General Services Cooperative (SERGS Coop) to undertake engineering construction, provided manpower and engineering services to offer job employment and financial resources to retired officers and personnel members. It is also responsible for the construction of socialized housing units and commercial buildings in some parts of Luzon and infrastructure projects of the Philippine Navy.
