Shanon is the eldest of 11 children of former City Vice Mayor Luciano Pamaong, Sr. He was educated in the fields of International Studies, Political Science and Law at UP Diliman, UST and ADMU. When his family migrated to Canada, he shifted his interest to fashion. As the 1st recognized Philippine fashion designer, he later opened his own boutique and manufacturing, showing collections in Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Montreal, Canada. He is the Founder of Bb. Pilipinas Charities (Canada) Inc., which has enabled him to undertake charitable projects like the yearly shipment of clothing, food, and other goods to orphanages in the Philippines.
He later moved to Paris, working with the couture House of Leacoaet Hemant, and other top Paris couturiers, which gave him the opportunity to show his collection in London, Austira, and Sweden. He then got an offer by one of the best fashion schools in the world, the Montreal-based La Salle College International to be one of the pioneering faculties in Manila Branch. After 2 years of teaching, upon the request of local designers, he established his own school, the Fashion Institute of the Philippines which is now the country’s best, most prestigious and biggest fashion school with branches in Ortigas, Makati, Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro. The institute has produced big names in fashion both nationally and internationally known designers, that have even won design competitions like Project Runway. He has also received various national and international awards. He has helped thousands of graduates with offers in scholarship and livelihood seminars.
