Mr. Candelario L. Namoco

From a mere “tigbalhin ug kabaw” in the once sleepy town of Dimiao, he aspired to be a tailor in Davao City, became a master cutter in Manila, and is now President and Board Chairman of DELS APPAREL CORPORATION, a garment business empire catering to the clothing and uniform needs of the personnel and staff of more than 60 establishments all over the country. Del was born in Dimiao, Bohol. He started his secondary education at San Nicolas Academy, and transferred to Rafael Palma College. After his sophomore year, he enrolled at the FEATI University where he earned his high school diploma.

He could have pursued a college degree, but the steady order of his ever-increasing clientele did not give him time for further educational pursuits. It was at LOR’S where he met his wife Merla Lansangan, who was a designer in the Ladies Department. All their three children are hands-on stockholder in the family corporation. They put up Del’s Tailoring House in 1967. Their market included Japanese tourists, who then found in the Philippines a vacation-heaven at less expense. This time Del and Merla decided to undergo mass-production, and became a main wholesale supplier of dresses, and assorted attires in souvenir shops, handicraft stores and malls. The husband-wife tailoring was becoming a huge business empire.

The couple branched off to another venture thru transport business: trucking, rent-a-car, and lipat-bahay, with 16 trucks and 25 units of L300. They soon decided to incorporate their business; thus was born DELS APPAREL CORPORATION in 2000. DELS APPAREL CORPORATION now serves more than 40,000 satisfied employees every year, as the exclusive accredited contractor for various government agencies and private companies.
