Dr. Veloso is very much a part of the social mainstream, being involved in many developmental projects.  A case in point was the initial construction of the Cogon Shrine.  Her work experience led her to believe that people want to find genuine meaning in their work, to believe that they are working for a higher purpose, to believe that they can make a difference in the lives of others.
